Oracle OpenWorld

There has been a relationship between Itude and Oracle for years. From system development to migrations, we work with the many technological flavours that Oracle provides. At the moment we work with products such as Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Portal, Oracle Developer suite (Designer/Forms/Reports etc.) and of course the Oracle Database and the Application Server. Based on this tool stack we support the entire lifecycle of a system, from development and test to acceptation and production.

altWe are an official Oracle partner. This means that we have access to the latest Oracle software and support. With these we can advise our customers in their choice of products and their application. In 2008 Itude Technology has visited Oracle Openworld in San Francisco. Here the Itude employees not only got acquainted with the latest products, but also with their deployment with different customers. At Itude there the necessary room to broaden your knowledge of the latest technologies.

Knowledge acquisition is also achieved by executing the projects for our customers. These projects are done on location with the customer, but increasingly more often from our office in Bunnik. Itude has a modern infrastructure, which allows for working from a different workplace (for example from home) and still have access to all relevant systems and documentation.

In the area of local authorities, we are responsible for the mid-office of the City of The Hague, in which data from different back-office systems is made accessible. We also build the applications that are accessible via the mid-office. For example: the City Information System (CIS) in which data is stored from inconvenience causing locations in the municipality. The Permit Check System (VerCo) for example, enables enforcement officers to check if a pavement licence meets the requirements. Their findings are sent back to the mid-office via a smart phone. With BPEL we see to it that the data finds its way to the correct mid-office.

Working with Itude means that you will have to deal with all kinds of Oracle technology. At Connexxion, not only the traditional developing tools such as Designer, Forms and Reports are used, but also Oracle Spatial to display route mappings on a map and the Oracle Application Server on which the Connexxion applications run. With the City of The Hague Oracle Portal, BPEL, Spatial, JDeveloper, Java, JSP, XML, etc. are used. These applications also run on an Oracle Application server. We also use MOBBL, a mobile server, developed by Itude, for the providing access to the mid-office on different mobile devices such as the Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Nokia.

The knowledge that we acquire at Itude, we like to share. Within Itude we do so by means of technical sessions, in which we discuss a (technical) topic. We also share knowledge via so-called hands-on sessions via the OBUG (Oracle Benelux User Group). During these sessions knowledge is being transferred by means of a workshop, in which the participants not only see a presentation and a demo, but the accent in particular lies on self experiencing how the tools work. This is done by means of a phased case, allowing each participant to work at his/her own speed. These hands-on sessions are often hosted by Oracle Nederland. They make available their laboratory, a guarantee for each participant to have his/her own workplace.
