Java development
Java
came into existence by the end of last century and has conquered the
world thanks to the rise and popularity of the web browser. At the
moment most system development is done in Java. In particular large
business critical systems, that process large amounts of data, are being
developed in Java, based on Oracle databases. In the course of time
many new technologies have been created around Java. Each with its own
advantages and disadvantages and their own life expectancy.
With Java the possibilities are unlimited. This has its advantages
but also its disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that Java allows
applications to be developed in many different ways. Wrong choices may
lead to solutions that appear to be fine in the short term, but that end
up as being expensive solutions that turn out to lack permanence or
that need extensive maintenance.
Itude is one of the first companies in the Netherlands that has
adopted Java into its service provision. Thanks to our knowledge and
experience we are capable to implement the Java technology optimally in
the development of business critical applications. Our Java developing
street is based on open standards and consists of a selection of tools
and techniques. With these we build web applications with a rich user
interface that go beyond the user experience of the standard HTML-web
applications.

Oracle development
Technologies
come and go. At the end of the twentieth century Oracle Designer and
Developer was one of the most popular developing tools in the
Netherlands, based on Model Based Development. However, thanks to the
increasing popularity of Component Based Development with Java or .NET,
nowadays hardly any new applications are built with Oracle Designer and
Developer. There still are a lot of business critical applications in
the market that have been developed in this environment. They will not
soon disappear, because of the large value they represent.
Already for 15 years Itude has been building systems based on large
databases with the help of the Oracle tools. Our customers still run
business critical core systems, that have been fully developed by Itude.
Itude helps its customers keeping these core systems up and running.
Itude also assists its customers to gradually migrate to a new
architecture, thus guaranteeing the permanence of investments in new
functionality. It is Itude’s strength to determine which technology
is important for a customer. We have worked with all major Oracle
products and acquired experience. In addition to Oracle Designer and
Developer we have done projects with Oracle Portal, Oracle JDeveloper
and Oracle BPEL. Our employees have closely followed the Oracle
developments from 1992 till to today. For example, our Oracle employees
have participated in the Oracle Open World in 2008 and Itude is a member
of the board of the Dutch Oracle User Group.
